This is Part 4 of our 4-Part blog series that began with the heartbreaking news that people still give puppies as gifts. This prompted a snowball of blog posts about what YOU as DOG LEADERS can do to HELP less dogs and puppies be given as gifts and ultimately HELP less dogs get returned to shelters. Here is the link to Part 1, 2, and 3 of the blog: https://beyonddogtraining.ca/news.
This week’s TIP will SAVE PEOPLE MONEY!
We’ve talked about what books to gift your friends to help them choose the right dog in the first place. We’ve talked about how to find the right energy match, so that people who want to run 10 Km a day with their dog, choose the right breed (or mixed breed,) as well as the right energy level of dog, because hey: not EVERY dog wants to run 10 Km every day. Of course, ALL dogs require daily exercise, but the amounts vary, so choosing a dog that has the SAME or LOWER energy than you is the KEY TO SUCCESS. It’s that easy!
If you didn’t know this, and adopted a dog that is WREAKING HAVOC IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD, visit us at BeyondDogTraining.ca/take-action. We can help you learn to drain your dog’s physical AND mental energy. A tired dog doesn’t eat your remote control. A tired dog sleeps!
This week’s tip is the one that will save people money! You’ve passed on the secret of how your friends and family can PREVENT adopting the WRONG DOG into their household. You passed them Cesar Millan’s book (A Member of the Family) and it gathered dust on their nightstand. Six weeks later, they adopted a HIGH ENERGY Belgian Malinois that is now biting their houseguests and eating their sofa. If ONLY they had listened to you and read that book.
But what’s that? You just overheard your other friends are adopting a NEW DOG from a rescue group? Here’s how YOU can SAVE THEM MONEY!
Tip #4: BEFORE YOU BRING YOUR NEW RESCUE DOG HOME, BOOK WITH BEYOND DOG TRAINING.
Wait a second. Won’t that COST my friends money?
Here’s a list of how much money my new clients have reported spending on doggy damage before they found me:
-Dog trainers who weren’t able to fix the behavioural issue: $1,899
-Doggy Daycare (per month) because their dog is destructive and can’t be trusted to stay at home alone: $860/month + HST
-Remote controls: $200 (for ONE remote control)
-Replacing couches: $1,249.97…the first time they replaced it. $639.97 the second time they replaced it.
-Replacing food that’s been eaten off their countertops and tables: $14.99 (per package of gluten-free butter tarts)
My newest clients actually saw their dog eat a $100 bill!
Here’s how much money Jane B. spent replacing things because her dog ate them: $0
Because Jane. B booked with us BEFORE she brought her rescue dog home. She learned how to introduce her new rescue dog to her car, her home, her cats, her children, and her other dog BEFORE she brought him home. Because of that, Jane B. is HAPPY and her children’s socks are not being eaten.
Have you already chosen your “furrever friend?” Are they set to arrive to an airport at midnight next week? There’s still time to start off on the right foot.
Here’s what you will learn when you book an INITIAL TRAINING SESSION BEFORE you bring your new dog home:
How to properly introduce your new rescue dog or puppy to:
-your car
-your house
-your children
-your other beautiful pets
-your houseguests
-your friend’s new baby
-a dog crate
-your swimming pool
-a new collar and leash
-and so much more!
When you bring your new dog or puppy home, EVERYTHING you do matters.
Should you lift your anxious new rescue dog into your car because it’s late and you just want to get home quickly and get to bed? Do you let your new puppy out of the crate when they call for the pack that first night? Book with us and find out what to do that first night, so you can become a DOG LEADER when it matters most: the BEGINNING of your relationship!
The savings are endless!
We look forward to helping you prevent puppies and dogs from ever being returned to shelters.
